Draft Sub-regulations for Food Delivery Act Announced; Delivery Union Urges Strengthening Suspension Notifications to Prevent 'Black Box' Decisions

The Ministry of Labor announced today (the 8th) the draft sub-regulations for the "Food Delivery Worker Rights Protection and Delivery Platform Management Act." The Taiwan Delivery Industry Rights Promotion Alliance issued a statement expressing support for the Ministry's efforts to legalize the delivery industry, though noting that some clauses still have loopholes, particularly regarding the suspension notification mechanism, which needs strengthening. The Alliance stated that the delivery act and its sub-regulations have undergone multiple discussions between platforms, unions, and the Ministry of Labor, and they highly support and appreciate the Ministry's willingness to continue communicating and coordinating with all parties.
