To consolidate the energy of various ministries in fostering industries, enhance investment consensus, and promote collaborative actions, the National Development Fund (NDF) held its first Steering Committee meeting for the "Thematic Billion-Dollar Fund Cross-Ministerial Integration Management Platform" today (16th). The meeting also announced the achievements of the billion-dollar investment program. As of now, the program has invested in over 500 companies, with an investment amount of NT$21.6 billion, and has driven NT$89.6 billion in private investment.
Kuan-Ling Chen, Chairperson of the National Development Council and Convenor of the NDF, stated that in the face of intensifying global industrial competition and supply chain restructuring trends, the government is channeling funds into strategically significant and potentially growing industries through the billion-dollar investment program. Furthermore, the cross-ministerial integration management platform strengthens policy coordination and investment resource integration, thereby improving investment efficiency and risk management capabilities.
The NDF indicated that the billion-dollar investment program has currently invested in several Taiwanese companies with international competitiveness. These include "E-Sun Technology," which is entering the National Space Organization's supply chain; drone operator "Xuan Yuan Technology"; autonomous driving technology manufacturer "Taiwan AI Driving"; as well as "Jenshine Semiconductor," "Tong Bao Semiconductor," and "Synaptic AI," Taiwan's first Visual Language Model (VLM) AI software company that attracted investment from NVIDIA.
The NDF pointed out that in the future, it will continue to deepen the cross-ministerial cooperation mechanism through the billion-dollar investment platform to grasp investment progress and execution effectiveness. It will also combine policy directions such as the "New Ten Major Constructions for AI" to further stimulate private capital investment, injecting new momentum into industrial upgrading and economic growth.
