Tech media WCCFTech reported that according to a FundaAI report, US chip giant Intel has partnered with Taiwan's second-largest foundry, UMC, to develop advanced 3nm process chips, directly challenging TSMC's dominant position in the foundry market. Under the leadership of CEO Pat Gelsinger, Intel is striving to compete with TSMC in the foundry industry. According to the report, UMC hopes to gain a foothold in advanced chip manufacturing by cooperating with Intel, avoiding massive capital expenditures on equipment. According to the FundaAI report, UMC is collaborating with Intel to produce chips using 12nm and 3nm process technologies. The related chips are expected to be manufactured at Intel's fabrication plant in Arizona, USA. (Editor: Liu Xianghua) Source link: https://www.rti.org.tw/news?uid=215609
