Post-Anti-Extradition Bill Movement, Hong Kong Government Strives to Promote 'Patriotic Education' with Chinese Narrative
bellala17h ago
In the past two or three years, Hong Kong authorities have been committed to promoting 'patriotic education' with a Chinese narrative, focusing on young people. It is widely believed that this is related to the large number of young people who participated in the 2019 'Anti-Extradition' movement; the implementation of patriotic education is intended to help them understand China's national conditions and development, thereby strengthening their 'love for country and love for Hong Kong' sentiments.
The latest approach by the Hong Kong government to strengthen patriotic education is to encourage Hong Kong youth to retrace the path of the CCP's 'Long March'.
The Hong Kong government announced that the series of exchange activities titled 'Inheriting the Long March Spirit, Continuing the Red Bloodline—Hong Kong and Macao Youth Retracing the Long March' launched today (11th) in Ruijin City, Jiangxi Province, China. Chief Secretary for Administration Chan Kwok-ki personally attended the event to preside over the launch ceremony and deliver a speech.
