Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Chen Ming-chi led a delegation to visit friendly nation Paraguay, inspecting the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park and the temporary campus of the Taiwan-Paraguay University of Science and Technology. He stated in a foreign media interview that the Taiwanese government will continue to deepen higher education cooperation with Paraguay to jointly cultivate talent needed for the next generation's economic development. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release this morning stating that during his visit to Paraguay on the 17th, Chen Ming-chi, accompanied by Paraguayan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Victor Verdun, inspected the Taiwan-Paraguay Smart Technology Park to review the current renovation and revitalization progress and investment attraction efforts. He also visited the Paraguayan Global Business Complex (Complejo Empresarial Global) to learn from local successful practices and create an investment environment conducive to Taiwanese high-tech manufacturers. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned that on the 16th, Chen Ming-chi and his delegation, along with Verdun, visited the temporary campus of the Taiwan-Paraguay University of Science and Technology. The President of the Taiwan-Paraguay University of Science and Technology, Jorge Duarte, stated that this cooperation project is of great significance for the development of higher technological education in Paraguay. Since its establishment 8 years ago, approximately 300 graduates have entered the industry and have been highly recognized. The construction of the new campus is expected to be completed in 2027, and graduate programs will be planned in the future to continue cultivating high-level human resources needed for Paraguay's national development. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that under the framework of the "Rongbang Project," to assist friendly nation Paraguay in its technological transformation and promote the international expansion of Taiwanese enterprises, the government is actively promoting the Taiwan-Paraguay University of Science and Technology project and arranging internships for the university's students in Taiwan's technology industry. Through industry-academia cooperation, a talent pool is being established for Paraguay's industrial upgrading and Taiwanese companies' investment. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that in an interview with Paraguay's Telefuturo television station, Chen Ming-chi said that Taiwan's investment in forward-looking enterprises in Paraguay will create new employment opportunities for local youth. The Taiwanese government will continue to deepen higher education cooperation with Paraguay to jointly cultivate talent needed for the next generation's economic development.
