The 2026 International Booker Prize was announced in London on the 19th. Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi's "Taiwan Travelogue" won the grand prize, marking the first time a Taiwanese and Chinese-language novel has received this honor. Deputy Representative to the UK, Chiang Ya-chi, attended the event to witness this historic moment, expressing her excitement and stating that this award will allow more British and international readers to gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan through literature, cuisine, and culture. "Taiwan Travelogue," written by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi and translated into English by Lin King, won the International Booker Prize. It is not only the first International Booker Prize in the history of Taiwanese literature but also sets an important record as the first Taiwanese novel to win the award.
