To address the issue of an aging population and a sharply declining birth rate, Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te has officially announced an extremely attractive financial support plan for young families.
👥 Target Audience:
The program applies to all children whose father or mother is a Taiwanese citizen. Notably, this policy includes children of unmarried couples and adopted children.
💰 Details of the "Raising Children with the Government" subsidy package:
Each child from birth until the age of 18 will receive a monthly subsidy of NT$5,000, divided into two specific stages:
Children under 6 years old: Receive the full NT$5,000 in cash each month.
Children aged 6 to 18: Receive NT$2,500 in cash.
The remaining NT$2,500 will be directly deposited into the child's dedicated savings account.
Note on the savings account: This amount is funded by the government budget monthly. Parents have the right to check the balance but cannot withdraw the funds before maturity.
🚀 A "nest egg" of over NT$360,000!
Long-term accumulation: By the age of 18, each young person will have a financial fund of at least approximately NT$360,000 to serve as a launchpad for university, entrepreneurship, or future preparations.
Money makes money: This figure is expected to increase further thanks to planned cooperation in management and profitable investment by professional financial companies.
This is considered a strategic move in Taiwan's new population policy, helping to alleviate economic burdens and provide additional motivation for young couples ready to welcome little angels.
