The 2026 Taiwan Creative Expo's brand exhibition has reached a new scale this year, gathering over 870 brands and 53 international brands. Not only has the exhibition area expanded by 18%, but it also features five major lifestyle trend zones under the theme "Future Everyday." From design selections, popular IPs to cross-industry applications of comics, it leads the public to imagine future lifestyles and showcases the strength of Taiwan's cultural and creative industries in continuously connecting with the international market.
The 2026 Taiwan Creative Expo's brand exhibition will take place from August 6th to 12th at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1. In line with the expo's annual theme "Bit Zero," it presents five major themes: "Rituals of Life," "Gentle Technology," "Moments of Slow Living," "New Imaginings of Home," and "Conscious Design." Across various life scenarios such as home, work, creation, and leisure, it outlines diverse imaginations of future life.
This year's exhibition scale continues to break records, with an 18% increase in exhibition area compared to last year. It brings together over 870 brands and more than 1,200 booths, attracting 53 international brands from Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and other regions. Simultaneously, over 80 international professional buyers have been invited to Taiwan, and matchmaking sessions, both online and in-person, are being held with buyers from 14 countries, further strengthening the exchange and cooperation between Taiwan's cultural and creative industries and the international market.
In addition to design brands, IP licensing has become a major highlight this year, accounting for as high as 64% of participating brands. Popular characters such as "You Tou Er Shi" (油頭二世), "Bian Zhong Ji Wa Wa" (變種吉娃娃), "Nuomi" (諾米), "Brownie" (布朗尼), and "Cha Bao Xian Sheng" (茶包先生) will be showcased. Among them, "Cathy Chen" (凱西.陳), making a comeback after 30 years, is particularly noteworthy, expected to evoke shared memories across different generations and demonstrate the market potential of Taiwan's cross-industry IP licensing.
This year, the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TCCTA) presents "IP Reincarnation Comic House" as its theme, utilizing the ACG concept of "reincarnation" to showcase the imagination of Taiwan's original comic IPs in cross-domain development. This includes adaptations into animations, musicals, TV dramas, immersive AI interactive games, board games, and collectible figures, allowing the public to see more possibilities for Taiwan's comics in their journey from content creation to commercial application.
The Ministry of Culture stated that during the expo's brand exhibition period, multiple business matchmaking events will be held to assist participating brands in precise对接 with domestic and international channels, licensing, and selection buyers. This continues to build an important Asian platform for cultural and creative exhibition and sales, enabling Taiwanese creativity to reach a larger international market. (Editor: Xu Jia-yuan)
