Taiwanese Badminton Player Chou Tien-chen Advances to BWF Indonesia Open Quarterfinals

Taiwanese badminton player Chou Tien-chen (周天成) today (June 4) secured a ticket to the quarterfinals in the prestigious BWF World Tour Super 1000 event held in Indonesia.
Chou Tien-chen, ranked 6th in the world men's singles, faced his long-time rival Angus Ng Ka Long from Hong Kong in the round of 16. Prior to this match, they had competed 20 times, with Chou Tien-chen winning 11 and losing 9.
Today, the two top athletes met again. The first two sets were tied at 21:15 and 16:21, forcing a third set. In the crucial decider, they were tied at 6:6. After several powerful smashes, Chou Tien-chen reached 8 points, leading Angus by 2. This intense match ultimately concluded with Chou Tien-chen winning 21:14.
Meanwhile, Taiwan's women's singles player Chiu Pin-chian (邱品蒨) defeated Thailand's Pitchamon Opatniputh with scores of 21:18 and 21:19. With these victories, both Taiwanese male and female athletes have earned opportunities to advance to the quarterfinals of the BWF World Tour Super 1000.
